About the Role
The Receptionist creates a welcoming environment for patients and families as the first point of contact with CASA. They are responsible for supporting staff and program requirements, obtaining and confirming patient information, to help ensure patients and families receive quality care.
The Receptionist will:
- Welcome guests and inform staff of their arrival and direct them to rooms as required.
- Develop an understanding of CASA’s programs and the associated referral processes to best support patients and their families.
- Greet patients and their families and liaise with staff to coordinate arrivals and direct families.
- Respond to incoming calls and transfer inquiries to the appropriate person and/or take accurate messages.
- Schedule return appointments for patients and makes appointment confirmation calls.
- Receive, send and distribute inter-office and external mail
- Understand CASA’s programs and services, and where to direct calls to if there are questions.
- Understand and provide direction on the processes for AHS referrals and self-referrals.
- Order personal protective equipment (PPE) and other office supplies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- High level of accuracy with data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Education and Experience
- Medical Office Assistant or equivalent
- One-to-two years of administrative experience in a medical setting.
Conditions of Employment
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
