About the Role
Reporting to the Organizational Development Lead, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process to attract and hire top talent to CASA Mental Health. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will collaborate with the People and Culture Business Partners and People and Culture Coordinators to ensure the employee life cycle is supported in a holistic way. This position also works closely with the People and Culture leadership team to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, ensuring alignment with CASA’s staffing needs, employment standards and our collective agreement. In addition to sourcing and screening candidates, the Talent Acquisition Specialist builds external partnerships, enhances CASA’s branding and drives process improvements. The role also contributes to strategic talent initiatives, supports total compensation analysis, and fosters a positive candidate and employee experience throughout all recruitment activities.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for their assigned portfolio, including intake, interview booking, reference checks, offers and warm handoff to the People and Culture team for on-boarding.
- Develop strong relationships and liaise with leadership to address any current and future staffing needs.
- Ensure all hiring practices follow the guidelines set out by CASA’s Collective Agreement and Alberta Employment Standards.
- Apply change management principles to implement new recruitment practices and support adoption across the organization.
- Design and deliver training or resources to upskill leaders as hiring managers, fostering consistency and confidence in recruitment decisions.
- Maintain the recruitment process by ensuring all hiring standards and position qualifications are consistently applied.
- Manage the candidate pipeline and optimize recruitment tracking systems to provide real-time visibility into the hiring lifecycle.
- Conduct meetings to map recruitment activities and establish timelines and action items for all parties involved in the recruitment process.
- Develop recruitment strategies, marketing campaigns and conduct planning sessions to enhance CASA’s brand and proactively address potential hiring needs.
- Develop written process guides for People and Culture internal use and for hiring managers.
- Collaborate with CASA’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) team on strategic initiatives to diversify the workforce, identify and develop various partnerships in the community.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of full-cycle recruitment experience is required.
- Experience in a health care environment is an asset.
- Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Strong, values-driven reputation in the recruitment community.
- Demonstrated track record in candidate sourcing and building strong talent pipelines.
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is an asset.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with candidates, leadership and external partners.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think innovatively to address staffing needs and candidate attraction.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
- May require travel between sites and recruitment-related events.
